Pros and cons of Supercal - Calendar app for iPhone and iPad

Supercal - Calendar app good for

The old version has been one of my critical apps for a while as it improves over the terrible Apple calendar in every possible way. I love how it seamlessly syncs with iCloud, calendar, contacts and maps so you cant even tell youre using a 3rd party app. I really like the new notification feature so that I no longer have to use the Apple calendar at all. This is by far the best calendar app out there. Great job in making this!
Lots of great features, functionality, multiple calendar support. I use every day with multiple calendars syncing and no issues at all. I have one suggestion that would really make it better though (I believe). Can you incorporate apple reminders into the calendar app. Some other calendar apps do this and it works very well and useful, in my opinion. Thanks Mark

Some bad moments

Find that it has couple of issues. 1. Only few items show up sometime. 2. When reviewing items on calendar year ago I can not quickly go to current day, have to scroll back to date. 3. Seems to lock up at times.
(and NO, I have no relation to the developers: Supercal was overlooked by the magazines for some reason, and I find it better than the other calendars that are more popular) I’ve used Supercal (and Supercal 2) for more than 6 months, I think, and I am very satisfied with it. I purchased Fantastical when that was the fad calendar in the iOS magazines, and also the calendar by Readdle, and the most recent upgrades of both. I tried a few others that did not have enough flexibility. They will all sync automatically with the iOS 7 calendar, so I switched back and forth throughout the day. I personally really like the clarity of Supercal 2’s interface and layout, and ease of use. Both my wife and I use reading glasses, and the graphics and text in Supercal 2 are very clear: both easy to read AND attractive to look at in use. Even if you already use one of the other calendars, this is worth the purchase just to try it. I use it every day, and find it serves me and my wife well (she is a teacher, and has classes and meetings at all times of day). It appears to have all the bells & whistles of the others, without having to wade through them each time I use it when I’m in a hurry. After reading the Fantastical reviews, I thought that would be the Be-All-and-End-All of calendars, but I like Supercal 2 better in day to day use.
The reason I wanted this app is because my husband has the first version of it. It’s SO much nicer than Apple’s iCal in iOS7. At least Supercal 1 had some styling. THIS version has gone the way of iOS7, removing what styling was there. The month view no longer has the lines indicating the days of the week - just like iCal. BOO!! Simple things, but at least they had SOME form of design. Removing all design does NOT, IMHO, leave one with a design. It’s just plain. And Plain awful. It’s better than iCal, but only marginally. I wouldn’t spend the $2 on it had I paid attention to the new look in this version.
Supercal was a great app. Not so much the second version. The developer broke it. I would give SuperCal five stars. This one I might give two at best. Quickly navigating to a new month. Broken. Quickly paging through the weeks. Broken. Result? Basic functionality broken. In a word, summing up this product: buggy.
I really liked the original Supercal (which I paid for). Ive been using it for over a year and its my go to calendar. But after iOS 8 some of the functionality disappeared/broke. I figured that an update would be forthcoming. Instead of updating the app the developer instead created Supercal2 (and charges a separate fee of course). Supercal2 appears to be iOS 8 friendly, but there is no iPad format/support. So now I paid again and have an even less functional/friendly calendar. Its off to the competition I guess.
Does anyone else find it strange that CalAlarm2 has this feature, but not SuperCal?
